question about magic bands for fast passes

I am staying at the Dolphin for the first time. Should I buy magic bands for fast passes or do you just use your ticket? is there a charge to link them besides the cost of the band?

Personal preference
No extra charge than the band itself but I would save the money and just use the card

if you have a band from a past trip, that works too

MagicBands are much more convenient and accessible, however if this is a short trip or you won't have much use for a band regarding future trips than you should just use the ticket.

If you have a magic band from a previous trip, you can use that. All bands linked to your MDE account can be used. If it is too old, the battery for the long range portions (on-ride photos) will not work, but it will still work for park entry and FP+.

If you're someone who wants ride photos, there are a few rides now that require a Magic Band to get photos, as there is no preview wall for you to tap your ticket card. Also, there are a couple rides (Mine Train, Tower of Terror) that have ride videos if you have a Magic Band (and bought Memory Maker). Other than that, your ticket card, while note quite as convenient, should do anything else you need.

I wouldn't bother with a MB if staying at the Swolphin (or other non-Disney resort) since all you need is your admission ticket. You won't be doing any room charges so the only other time you'll need it is actual FP entry to an attraction. So, you would only need it 4 times a day.

My two cents:
I stay at Swolphin. I love the joint.
I get MB's - they are worth the cost for the convenience imo. But that's just my opinion. Park entry, fp's, emm entry, party tickets. I use far more than 3 fastpasses per day. I like to travel light when I'm in the parks. MB, driver's license, a credit card, and a phone. I'm not a hard ticket+ lanyard type. It would just bug me. Digging for a ticket in my pocket would bug me as well. That's just me tho. Also, take a look at the Swolphin thread oni the resorts section - some great tips/hints in there. Hope you have a great trip! Fuel's sandwiches, and Kimonos' sushi are absolute hidden gems, btw. And enjoy the heck out of that pool!

Would agree with above suggestions.
It depends how long you will be staying,if its worth the money and what is important to you.
Personally, I love the ease of use with one band for entry, FP, charging and photos, and staying on grounds, room key.
