Bear with me here. I know I've read it before, but we are getting close and I'd like to make sure I have it down correctly.

We are going from a resort to the Port via private driver with a grocery stop.

1. When we get to the port, can we check our bags at that point and not have to carry them on?

2. Our water will be considered carry-on luggage and will have to kept with us if we arrive too early for our stateroom to be ready?

3. The same is true for our carry on baggage?

Just trying not to get to the ship so early that we are packing around luggage, carry-ons and a case of water. Advise would be appreciated.

Many thanks.:flower3:

When you arrive at the port, you can give your luggage to one of the porters at curbside. Make sure you have your DCL luggage tags on them, or ask the porter if you need more (and tip the porter).

I've seen differing reports on this..... some people have said you have to carry it on and others have said you can put a DCL luggage tag on it and it will be delivered to your cabin with the rest of your luggage.

You have to keep track of (and lug around) anything you carry on board, until your cabin is ready. Cabins are usually ready by 1:30pm.

Hope that helps. Have a great cruise!

The official word from DCL is that they want all beverages to brought on as carryons.....that said there have been reports that the porters will take your cases even though technically they are not supposed to. But they don't work for DCL they are an independent company and are looking to earn a tip so sure they will take them.

When we sailed last month my BIL had a small luggage cart that he had a case of soda and a case of beer on. He was asked to cover it with a bag but had no problem carrying it on.
