Question about liquid in carry on

Wondering if TSA considers hair mousse (in a can) a liquid. I tried doing a search and found conflicting information, so was wondering if anyone here had any experience bring a regular size can of hair mousse or hair spray on board in their carry on bag.

I saw them take away full size mouse bs hair gel from a woman once. I would just take travel size if I were you.

It is definitely considered a liquid and has to follow the 311 rule.

It is most definitely a liquid. If things like lip balm, peanut butter and mashed potato count then mousse will too!

The key is liquid or gel, it is not a solid so it falls into the category of one of the two which means they will take it if they find it. I have been using hair mousse for a long time, John Freida makes travel size ones that have a lot in them, when in doubt I pack two.... if I run out my hair turns into a frizzy mess lol.
