Question about Leapster L-max games

My daughter has the regular Leapster but she wants the Madagascar game for the Leapster L-max. Does anyone know if the L-max games play on the regular Leapster? I know you can go the other way and play regular games on the L-max. I really don't want to buy the L-max yet as she has only had her Leapster for a year.

Looks like the two game systems are NOT compatible according to my Best Buy....no surprise there, right?

Ok, now I am really confused. I went to Walmart.com and in the description for this game says This software works on all Leapster & Leapster L-Max platforms. I went to BestBuy.com after reading your post and looked up an L-max game and it says For use with the Leapster L-Max Learning Game System . I think I am going to order it from Walmart and hope that it will work.

The regular leapster games work on the L-max, but the L-max games do NOT work with the regular leapster...this is what I was told when I called the company. HTH.

I read somewhere, I think it was the LeapFrog site, that all the leapster games play on the Lmax and most of the LMax games play on the leapster, they may just not do some of the special features that they only do on the tv.
