I have read raves about Le Cellier on the boards and am interested in trying it on my next trip. I have never eaten there and not sure what to expect from the steaks (because steaks vary from restaurant to restaurant). What restaurant(s) would you compare the steaks to (ie. Outback, Ruth's Chris, Morton's, etc.)

I really like LeCellier .. but I can't say it is as good as Ruth's Cris or Morton's ..not even a long shot. The Outback .. we have one really good Outback here that is wonderful, but comparing others .. i would vote for LeCellier.

The thing that stops me from giving LeCellier rave reviews is the atmosphere. The tables are jammed together. People trip over each other trying to get to the bathroom and it is very noisy. The food is very good.. but keep in mind you are in a theme park. We like the steaks at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and Flying Fish much better and enjoy our meal so much more.

It's not a premier steakhouse like Morton's - if you are looking for a nice piece of prime go to Shulas instead.

I would say just a notch below Ruth's Cris, but definitely above Outback.

I would agree it is not as good as Ruth Chris. Maybe above or at Outback. I think the experience very much has to do with the server. Our last server was great and made our experience wonderful!

We went for a late lunch in July last year, it was not crowded, it was a cool (a/c) break from the crowds, and heat!! The room was dark, and provided a wonderful atmosphere - so I didnt note the tables being close...

Just thought I'd add that the menus are different for Lunch and dinner - www.allearsnet.com has menus listed!

I think it also depends on what you order and what time of day.

We dined early-ish (around 5:15) and it was quiet and nice and cool inside. We had a lot of space at our table (nestled against a wall, so a bench on one side and seats on the other) right near the restrooms.

The filet I got was one of the best I've ever had. The risotto was also divine. I don't recommend the chocolate bread pudding at all - unless you like anise (black licorice) which is in the ice cream that melts on it. Blah.
But, the maple creme brulee was DIVINE.

I found the food to be spectacular - better than some of the most exclusive restaurants in our upscale areas.

I agree. The Maple Glaze Filet is the best I've ever had. And we've always enjoyed the atmosphere because it is quiet. It makes us forget we're at a theme park.

Thanks for all the help. We have also considered Yachtsman's Steakhouse, since we'll be staying at the Yacht Club during our stay. Just wanted a comparison because Yachtsman seems a little pricer than Le Cellier. Again, thanks for the replies.

P. S. Where is Shula's? Dolphin/Swan?

Shula's is in the Dolphin. It's as good, and as expensive, as restaurants like the Palm and Mortons.

DH was disappointed in his steak he ate there in June. He rated it "okay". He thought for Le Cellier being a steakhouse and the price, the steak should have had much better.
So far he has liked the steak at Kona Cafe the best! Go figure. :confused3
