Question about laundry at HoJo's

So, for those of you who do your own laundry at HoJo's... do you stay with it every minute or do you leave it by itself for, say fifteen minutes at a time. I will be with my sis and my two DDs who will be 4 and 8 by then. I was hoping people feel that it's pretty safe to just check on it every fifteen or so. I did have two entire loads of laundry stolen... wet, straight from the washer... several years ago at an apt. complex so maybe I have a complex from that. I'd hate for either one of us to have to camp down there for an hour and a half but that may be best. We will try to pack so we don't need to do laundry but we are only bringing carry-ons. At least it will be summer so we shouldn't need a lot of heavy clothes.

Thanks!

I've left mine there at both laundry locations (building 1 & 2). I did make it a point to be back to the laundry room right when either the washer or dryer was finishing though. I wouldn't want to leave it unattended for long after the washer or dryer had quit running because I wouldn't want anyone else removing it if they needed the washer or dryer.

Whilst not at HoJos, anywhere I've stayed, not only in Anaheim, but worldwide I've always stayed with my laundry. I see it as a bit of time out!!!! Take a book, Sudoko, whatever, and sit and do nothing for a while. But, take that with a grain of salt as I also like going to the dentist as no one can bother me their either.

Thank-you! That sounds good to me.

I wouldn't mind staying with the laundry if it was just me but I would have to either leave my girls with my sis (which I would not ask her to referee for that long), bring the girls with me, or have my sis do the laundry. Of the three choices I would be most likely to bring the girls with me. I think things would go fine if she was just watching them intermittently. They would know I might be back any second. They are good kids but she hasn't had little ones in a very long time and I want her to have a relaxing trip too.

In the laundry rooms at HoJo there really isn't any place to sit. They do have a couple of chairs and couches near the elevators, but nowhere in the laundry facility. There are just a few machines (3, I think, in Bldg. 2) We've done laundry once at HoJo and I just went to check on it a couple of times to see where it was in the cycle - I can't remember if it says how long the wash cycle takes. It was easier to judge with the dryer.

It would probably be fine for you to just check on it intermittently, that way you wouldn't have to leave your girls and your sister together too long. Although, if you are taking the elevator to get to the laundry room you could always take the girls along - maybe they are like my boys and LOVE elevators??!! :confused3 I've never figured out why getting into a moving, sightless box is fun??!! :scared1:

Yes, they probably would enjoy riding up and down the elevator. It is quite the thing to ration out the button-pushing. You'd think a gold piece fell into their hands every time they push the elevator buttons. Thanks for the insight on the laundry room. I think we'll do it that way.

I had a similar experience at an apartment complex, and therefore I do NOT leave my laundry at public places. Just won't do it. The laundry room was directly across a tiny breezeway from the office, but still someone had the guts to take my stuff.

All that matters is the guests staying at the hotel at the same time you are...not their security, not the general feel of the place, nothing else makes a difference. I don't like gambling that there's no one who is feeling low on clothes at the hotel at the same time I am.

I still remember some of the clothes I lost at the apartment complex, and that was back in '93 or so...dang I miss those clothes.

Me too! Mine was in '91. I specifically remember three pairs of shorts that fit perfectly and were just the right length. Never could find any I liked as much.

I did laundry twice in building 2 and just left it. I just put the timer on my phone and went back at the end.

I did two loads of laundry at about 9-10pm and left it between cycles. I did desire to go to bed and watched the clock so that no time was wasted.
