Question about Last Seating at Character Breakfast

So if we decide to do the last seating at a character breakfast (specifically, a 10:45 ADR at Cape May), how likely are they to keep replenishing the food at the end? Will we be sorry to pick the last seating because they won't be refilling the buffet items at the end?

Currently we have a 10:30 ADR, but were thinking of moving it a little later. But we don't want to be disappointed if half the buffet items are empty!

TIA!

I never do that again. Once I did dinner at Chef Mickeys that way. They don't fill up like they do earlier.

By going late you spoil you day. You'll going be there for 1 to 1 1/2 hours and there went the morning.

I've done last seating at Cape May several times-tradition for last meal before heading to airport.

Everything is full, characters are still coming around and the cast members are very nice and never rush you.

We love to do this so we can have an early lunch but my family loves breakfast. We usually do this at Crystal Palace. The best thing is we have more time with the character and they usually all come together toward the end so you get great photos. Food has never been a problem, there is usually still plenty of breakfast, hot and ready.

Actually, we're planning to get a solid 2.5 hours in right at rope drop, then take a break for "brunch." I'd rather take a late breakfast break a couple of hours after the park opens, rather than waste time earlier in the morning!

We'll have plenty of time at Epcot during the week, so I'm not worried about getting things done that we want to do. Thanks for the feedback, though!

We do this at several places during our trip. Our motto is "if you don't do rope drop you might as well stay home" lol so we always do rope drop then hit either tusker house, crystal palace or another place for a late breakfast. Cape May has by far been the best experience we have had doing this. September 2012 we were able to get pictures with all the characters at the same time and they played around with my kids for about 15 minutes because we were the last family in the place. I have the best videos and pics from that visit.

And no there's never been a problem with the food.
We have also done dinner at chef mickeys last seating and the food was fine.

The last breakfast seating at character buffets is our favorite time to make an ADR. We've found that we get better character interaction as the restaurant isn't as full. We've also never had a problem with the buffet not being replenished. Any restaurant that serves lunch will probably close one side though, to change it over to lunch foods. The other side will be kept as breakfast. We make a 10:30 ADR at Crystal Palace every single trip. We find that we get A LOT done in the park between 9:00 and 10:15, and by the time we're seated we're good and hungry. Plus, we love breakfast foods, but just can't eat very much early in the morning, so the brunch time frame works better for us. :goodvibes

We had a 10:30 breakfast at Ohana on our departure day and it was great! Service and food plentiful until the end!

We had a 10:55 at O'hanas but we ran late getting there and still had to wait for seating and they still had plenty of food. Not rushed with characters either.

My guess is that the meals that change over to lunch you might end up with less breakfast options as they transition but the ones that only do breakfast and dinner should still have plenty to eat.

Do you get to have the lunch foods too? I have a 10:30 at CP in June.

We have been to CMC on several occasions near the "close" of breakfast however the latest we probably sat was about 10:30.

Now that being said in most instances food was still pretty full even at 11:00 however sometimes they will run out of things. On our last visit they ran out of my favorite chocolate croissants by 10:45 :worried: but I did have the opportunity to grab 1 or 2 beforehand.

We do like "late" character buffets because the characters still usually stick around so you get to spend more time with them.

When we were at PF a few weeks back we didn't sit until almost 11:30 and the chefs were still cooking up omelets until 12. There were some empties but if you asked for something they'd filled it up.

If you time a character breakfast in the park close to the end just before lunch transition then yes you will have the opportunity to have some lunch too (if they serve lunch). Almost all of the character meals at the resorts don't offer a character lunch (only on occasion).

Late dinner, will never do that again especially at CP. Everything was picked through and they were basically dumping items from the other side of the buffet and combining. Nothing was fresh, dessert was slim pickens.

Keep in mind this can vary daily. This is our experience and someone else's may be totally different.

Thank you so much. I can't decide between 10:30am or 2:30pm. I love desserts so I want to be sure that I can have dessert!
