I happened to look up the next few days and saw some great reservations. I have a CRT at a really bad time (post fireworks) and I'm not sure the 3 year old princess will be really able to enjoy it. If we are within the window to be charged, will I be charged if I modified my reservation? Does anyone know?

I would just call disney dining, and let them handle if if you are close to be sure.

This question comes up regularly and from responses on other threads you would have a better chance of having the penalty waived if you call the dining line or speak with the concierge at your resort where it will be evaluated on a case by case basis. There is no blanket policy regarding changing a reservation at the last minute, but if you cancel online and make a new reservation at a different restaurant or a different time the system won't know why you cancelled the original reservation so you would be assessed the $10 per person penalty. You'll need to speak with a person, but even then there's still no guarantee the fee would be waived.

With CRT or the dinner shows I would not take the chance because the penalty is the full pre-payment amount and not just $10 per person. It would be better to keep checking online multiple times a day to see if something earlier opens up and if nothing comes up, make a decision before the CRT cancellation deadline comes up.

Thank you so much! I am stalking, just not holding my breath. I know I'm lucky just to get a reservation!

When we were there in February, our DD (then 2) threw up in the middle of the night when we had an 8 am at H&V. (She has food allergies and reflux so I wasn't sure what it was, but no fever and she eventually went back to sleep.) They were awesome when I called first thing in the morning. They rebooked a late breakfast for us just in case she was okay to make it (she was luckily) and didn't charge us for the first time.

That said, I'd keep checking for a better time there or somewhere else. You know your kid best and if it's too late for her to enjoy it, it's a lot of money or credits to lose for a bad time when you can do something else that works better for everyone.

Have fun!
