Question about land/sea package

I was reading in my passporter about only checking in one time. Does this mean if you stay at the resort first that you don't need to wait in the lines at the Cruise terminal? Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.

You got it. When you check in at the resort, you'll also do all your DCL paperwork there. And your KTTW will get you onto the ship and into your stateroom.

So, once you get to the terminal and through security, you're up the escalators, through the ears, and welcome to the Wonder.

Have fun!

you can do the cruise check-in at the resort. Just remember to ask when you check in when the cruise desk will be staffed. At CBR they were there 2 mornings and they called us the first one (we were gone already) and then we wasted 45 minutes of an early start day at AK at the cruise desk since they were only there between 8-11 am. And even if they tell you that only one adult is needed you may want to have all adults, my dh would not have been able to do it without me, maybe because we have 2 different citizenships, not sure but they needed both of us. It saved a huge amount of time at the terminal so well worth it.

Thank you for the info. We will be at the Poly for 4 nights then on our cruise for 3.I would love to be able to go to one of the parks the day of our cruise but not sure if we can swing it. I think we will need to get there early so we can book some of the spa services. I noticed that the new schedule at WDW does not have any early entry on Thursday morning. I wonder if they do that to discourage people from visiting parks before their cruise? I was thinking Epcot would be good that morning because that is low on our priority list with a 5 and a 7 yr old. There are maybe 3 or 4 rides that I think the kids would like. Have either of you tried to see a park the day of your cruise?

Asil65.....We stayed at the POLY last June on a 3 day land/4 day sea and are planning the exact same trip this coming June. Last time we were arrived at the POLY we were directed to the DCL desk first and they checked all our documentation. We then checked in to the POLY. Our luggage had not arrived yet and our room was not ready. We went on to Magic Kingdom and when we arrived back to the room, around dinner time, our room was ready and our luggage was in our room. On our sail date, which for us was Sunday, we did not go to a park. My DH and I switched off getting a massage at the Grnad Floridian while the other plyed with the kids in the valcano pool. What a way to start off our cruise :goodvibes Just remember whatever you have planned for that morning that you have to have your luggage ready to go to the ship early. They come and pick it up from your room. Make sure you pack a separate bag for what you will need for that day because you will not see your luggage that day until you get to your stateroom. FYI...They offer a bus to AK on your sail date and a bus around 12:00 to the port from Ak. We are planning on doing this on our upcoming trip! All this is assuming you are using Disney transportation

Great report Jeannie. So it can be done. I just wish on that Thursday we could have an early entry day. WeluvM&M, Sounds like you did the opposite land sea package that we have. We are renting a car for the trip. We get in a day early and leave a day late . Got better prices for airfare that way. When we saw how much transportation for 5 of us would be the car seemed like a better deal. I loved your idea about the spa at the GF. If we do that then getting to the boat early is eliminated and we could have 2 hours at Epcot. Hmm. I wondered how check in at the Poly worked. We check in on Sunday and were planning on getting there at around 9 to get our tickets and head over to MK. I know our room won't be ready so we will leave our bags in he car and bring them in in the afternoon when we can get into our rooms. I like that they have a DCL check in area at the resort. How did you like the Poly? Never been there before. We booked a dinner at Ohana and booked the Luau one night.Reviews are mixed on the Luau but I figured while we were there we would try it. Any suggestions girls?

We LOVED the POLY :cheer2: I think it is a perfect compliment to the cruise. The atmosphere really gets you in that island state of mind. The rooms were big and comfortable. Ohana's is good food and fun. Are you eating there for some other meal besides dinner? You will find that the food at Ohana's and the Luau are VERY much alike. Since the WDW time is limited on a L&S the POLY's location helps to be able to do more of the things that you want.

As far as check-in, sounds like you have a good plan. You will find the DCL desk at the back left hand corner of the lower lobby.
