Question about Kona Island Sushi Bar

I was listening to some older podcasts and have a question about some info that was given. On this particular show, Kevin was doing a first review of the sushi bar at the Poly. He said that you could also order from the Kona Cafe menu in addition to the sushi.

My question is....Can you still do this? If so, that will be on the top of my list of places to eat next trip. My DD would rather die than to eat sushi, even though she would eat most (if not all) of the ingredients used if served separate, but no way no how will she eat sushi. But, she is only two months shy of being 9, so there is always hope that will change.

As of December you could order from Kona. And I am not a sushi eater. But the Tempura Shrimp "sushi" is great. Its just tempura shrimp wrapped in rice, like regular sushi. I got that and the duck potstickers for dinner. They are really good.

When we were there last October you could order from the Kona Cafe menu at the Kona Sushi bar. But you can also order from the Kona Sushi bar in the Kona Cafe. I know you will not see it being made but it is a bigger table and might be easier for you all.

The last time I was there in December 2010 I saw other guests ordering off the Kona Cafe dinner menu. Also don't forget when eating at the Sushi Bar they don't take ADR's, so it's first come first serve and if the seats are all taken it's best to wait around there until some people leave.

As of April you could order sushi from the sushi bar in the restaurant. Get the Volcano Roll-yummy!

Okay, this is all good information to know. I was thinking it would be a nice break from MK for dinner without it taking the amount of time a table service meal would take. It will be on the list of places to try.

That one is my favorite and I would also highly recommend ordering it.
