Has anyone's child done the Pirates Cruise? Maybe called Pirate Adventure. I believe it starts from Grand Floridian. Was it fun for them? Worth the money? And most of all - were they safe? Did strangers have access to your children? Hate to sound paranoid but with all the unfortunate things happening in the world today I would rather be safe than sorry. Would appreciate any input. Thanks!!

My kids did this last month and LOVED it! They all wear life vests and it seems extremely organized, yet fun. They even practice "freeze"*** so when the captain yells "freeze", they do, believe me! They sail to different resorts and disembark on their quest for pieces of the treasure map and ultimately, the treasure. There were 3 adult sailors for the 15-20 kids on board. I don't think my kids saw any other people on their Pirate Cruise, except for the CMs playing certain parts at their different ports of call. They do use a buddy system, each child pairing up with another.

Thanks for your positive report! Has anyone else had their children do this activity? Would love to hear!pirate:

My Son did this in December - He had just turned 4 - It was quite organized - I believe the adult supervsion was adequate --- however, my Son didn't really have a good time at all.....The activity is geared towards a little older age group I think, the average age of the "pirates" was around 7, and most of the younger ones were with older siblings..... I think he was sort of pushed to the back of the group by the older kids (and he's an outgoing kid)......Sort of just a heads-up----I will definitely reschedule him to try this again in a couple years, but not until he's at least 6.....

By the way--- I saw the group as they landed at the Poly, and sort of "spied" on them......They give you a pager when you drop your child off....after they left the dock, I walked back to the Poly (our room) and just happened to get there just as they were pulling up to the dock :D

my dd, 4, did the pirate cruise last Sept and just loved it-it was the highlight of her trip, and the first thing we signed up for in our next trip. All of the children on the boat seemed to have a great time, and it was very safe. the reviews on these boards have been generally positive.

My GS did it when he was 8. He said he had fun, but the next year (9) he said he didn't want to do it again. Keep in mind that your child will have to choose a partner and they hold hands when they are off of the boat. My GS partner was a GIRL....they never spoke (he said), but did say goodbye when they left the boat. This is not an easy tour to get, so calling early is your best bet. BTW--children must be completely potty trained (meaning no one will assist your child).

My son attended last August when he was 6. He had a blast. I would say that most of the kids were in the 6-8 range and the real young ones were there with older siblings. I think a very outgoing 4 year old would be fine, but I would worry about a shy 4 year old going solo. (Just my opinion though)

I also made sure my son ate breakfast before because I didn't know if he would like the "uncrustable" sandwiches. He didn't, but liked all of the other goodies.
