Question about kids credits

I have been reading through people's wonderful reviews of their dining experiences and have a question about the credits.

We have 2 kids aged 7 and 10 and assumed that we would have to get 3 meals from the adult menu and 1 from the children's menu for each day whether it be CS or TS.

Now, one of the DIS reviewers (is that a word?) seem to be using 2 credits per meal and sharing with their 7 year old thus saving up some CS credits and they made them stretch out to be used for breakfasts, etc.

So, is there a difference between CS (or I guess TS) credits on the account for adults and children or is it just 1 per person so for 4 total per day not 3 adults and 1 child in our case?

I'm confused!

That's correct (assuming it is you and your spouse going along with the two children :)).

You shouldn't be confused. You had it correct to start with. This is the relevant portion of the brochure:

So, Dining Plan patrons are to use credits paid for at the child rate for child meals, unconditionally (CS or TS).

Sarah--just remember that you are not required to order all your meals at once at CS restaurants. You can get as many as you'd like, up to the # of guests listed on your room key (3A/1C, in your case). So if you'd like to share 3A meals for lunch, you can still use the extra child credits for children's breakfasts to share. There isn't much difference between the adult and children's breakfasts.

If you're not wild about the child's CS choices for lunch and dinner, remember there are a few places where there is no difference between the adult and children's menus. I think they're listed under one of the stickies, but off the top of my head I'm thinking Toy Story Pizza Planet at MGM, Casey's hot dogs at MK, and maybe the Main Street Bakery at the MK (2 items + 1 drink makes a great snack to share anytime!).

Have fun!
