Question about Kids Clubs...

OMG -- yesterday, DH , who NEVER wants to pay a babysitter here at home, says "is there babysitting at Disney?" WHAT?! NOW you want to pay a sitter?! At WDW?! (Of course, those were the thoughts in my head, NOT spoken!) And of course, me with all my planning, when does he think we are going to squeeze in just-the-2-of-us time? Anyway, hysteria aside, I'll figure out those details -- it's not every day DH suggests "date night" so no matter what, I'll make it happen!

What I really want to know is -- I read somewhere (I think in the Passporter) that if you don't have a "kids club" in your resort, it's not feasible to drop the kids off at one and have any valuable time.... What are everyone's thoughts on this? We are staying at Pop; I was thinking we might be able to either drop the kids off early (4:00) at NeverLand Club after a day at MK and then hop on the monorail for an early dinner at Epcot.... Or would we be better off bringing them to Sandcastle Club -- then maybe we could pick them up after our dinner and all watch illuminations together?

And before anyone suggests FG or other services, I am sure they are WONDERFUL.... I am just not comfortable with it for our 1st trip.... And with all the "stranger danger" education I give my kids, I don't think they would be comfortable either.... Besides, the only time it may fit into our trip might be our last night, so being trapped in the room while Mom and Dad have one last night out would stink for them....

Thoughts?

You can bring them to any kids club on the property (I think). We've done Simba's Clubhouse at the AKL while the adults are at Jiko and We have a reservation in August at the Sandcastle Club while we eat at the Yachtsman.

It's $11 per hour per child so it does add up quickly.

My kids love it, they actually ask to go back.

We took out older to the one at WL on out last trip. He was 9 at the time.

He had a great time.. I think he was there for 2 hours.. out second child atthe time was 2. Hubby and I took her to DTD.. she slept the whole time.. We just walked around.. and got a bite to eat.

Is the Yachtsman worth the "nite out"? I was hoping to get over to Bistro de Paris, since that was one of our favorite places from our honeymoon (so many "moons" ago), but I'd be up for some place new.

Never mind.... DUH, I just looked at the menu.... Definitely seems like a great place for just-the-2-of-us!!

Thanks for the suggestion.... Anyone else?

No suggestions since I am looking into the same thing. Just wanted to say hi to another CT person. We are going to be there at the same time. Our dates are 9-18 to 9-28. !!
