Can anyone tell me about the whole bus ride thing?

I have the chance to go tomorrow but I'm not sure if its my thing, and if its a bus tour I know its not my thing.

Is the normal tour something where I am stuck on a bus all day, or is it just like a shuttle bus? I have this claustrophobia anxiety thing about mass transport, so I was wondering around how long it takes if its a shuttle, and if it the kind of thing where they load the bus one person per seat or do they cram the aisle to standing room only?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give! (ugh I had the same "issues" over the bus ride at Graceland, and almost didn't do it but did it in the end with no probs)

The bus is part tour ("we are driving past blah blah blah where blah blah blah happens") and part transportation that takes you to several stops were you get off and tour the spot at your leisure. When you are done, you hope in line to catch another bus to go to the next stop.

All stops were worth it IMHO. Distance between stops is about 5-10 minutes, maybe? Longest distance is from the last stop back to the visitor's center (since on the way out--you are stopping at things in order...and then skipping all those stops on the way back.)

I'm not familiar with graceland, so can't really offer a comparison.

I would related it to a much comfier version of disney busses.

The stops along the way all have places to go to the bathroom and eat. So you aren't "stranded" or anything if that makes any sense.

The bus is a short ride that gets you from point A to point B. When you get to point B you get out and walk around. Then you get on another bus that takes you from point B to point C. Then you get out again. When you are ready you get on another bus that takes you back to point A. While you are on the bus they tell you to look at this or that, and they play short videos about KSC.

I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. :goodvibes

Don't skip the bus tour! You'll see some cool stuff. It is not a bothersome ride at all. Have fun! We loved our visit to KSC--we spent 2 days there.

You will have a great time on the bus. They show videos and do stop at different areas. You are free to take another bus and tour at your leisure.

Without the bus tour you will miss out on seeing just about everything that is worth seeing (i.e. interesting). The building housing the sectioned Saturn Rocket has to be seen to be believed, the observation tower, the launch areas, the assembly building up close.

As stated they are all just short little jaunts that stop and let everyone off to take their time and tour, on foot, all the things I just mentioned and more. So look at it as a bus that takes you to many places and lets you off to begin your tour, not a bus tour in the strictest sense of the word.

I don't know if they have changed it since the last time I was there (I could look it up, I suppose) but it works like WDW, one fee covers all. Don't miss the Imax, Big Blue Planet, movie. It is great.

Thanks yall! I appreciate the responses very much! I however am going to sit the trip out. The rest of the family is going, and without me I think they will enjoy it much more than if they have to worry about my problems. :goodvibes
