Hello! Have camped at The Fort in February only, never in summer. Am wondering about evening temps and insects during this time. Hoping some of you regulars can help me out.

Getting excited now

We have went the first part of June several times, it was very hot around the middle of the day. Never noticed any difference in bugs, they probably lie low like the rest of us in the heat, also the crowds at the first of June are smaller, but start growing after that..

We have been once in June. I do not remember any problems with bugs. It was HOT in the parks especially AK.

We normally go in June - the only bugs I can report on are the mosquitoes - they ate us alive and we had to buy spray at the fort - around $9, so make sure you bring your own. The were especially bad at the beach watching the elec parade.

Hey maybe we will see you there! We arrive on the 19th.

Thanks for the tip - we love watching the fireworks from the beach so we will bring plenty of spray.

Not used to super hot camping so this will be an experience. We're in PA so even in summer we can camp without air conditioning.

We are leaving Friday for 9 days at the Fort. I'll let you know about bugs and temps.

I have never been this early in June. We have been in July, August and mid to late June. Late June is "SUMMER". I heard end of May to early June is similar temps (90's) but a little less humidity.

I'll let you know.

We normally go the first or second week in June - it can get hot, but always ways to escape that!! Last year we had the horrible experience of the yellow flies! No escaping those! The little devils ate me alive!! I then had a reaction and had welps all over my legs! That was the only year we had problems so here's hoping they won't be so bad again.
