Question about Jedi Training at Disneyland

We are going to spend 1 day at Disneyland. We have never done the Jedi training academy before and I think my son would really enjoy it. I noticed on the website sign up is first come, first serve. We are driving up from San Diego that morning so may not arrive at park opening. How easy is it to get a sign up? Do you have to be there right when the park opens? I don't want to tell my son about it and then have him be super bummed if he can't do it. This will be a Wednesday in February so not a crazy busy time but there are only 6 training academies that day. Thanks!

If you don't get an answer here, please repost this on the Disneyland Forum. (Click below.)

We were just there last Monday. I would suggest going when the park opens if it's important to you. We were at the park at opening (10 am) and went directly there. There were maybe 8 kids/families in front of us. We got the first show which was nice. The return time for my son was 11:05 for the 11:30 show. When we came back at 11:05 the line was VERY long. I'd rather just get it over with and not have to wait in a long line. Good luck!

Are they doing the sign-ups again? The last time we went those were in "beta," as it is, and they reverted back to the "most enthusiastic child" way of schoolyard picking per show on most days. Those days, you don't have to show up early...just show up before the preferred show starts and get a good spot in the front rows of the audience.

Sign ups are near the Autopia entrance. There will be a sign for sign ups, and a CM will be taking names for that day's training.

It's sign ups indefinitely now.

Thursday of last week, the line wrapped all the way back to Space Mountain at park opening (10 am and MMH) Saturday, it barely went down the ramp at park opening (8 am and MMH.)
I wouldn't chance it and would try to be there at rope drop to ensure your child gets to do it.

YIKES! I agree, get there early to sign up.
