On all of our trips to Disney World not once have we seen Illuminations. So, on this Holiday trip we are going to see it for our first time. What I would like to ask you all is there any specific spot to see the show that you would recommend?
We have three children with us ages 8, 5 and 3 and would love to have a location where they all could see the show.
TIA.

I really like watching it from the edge of the water near Morocco. Also, the Cantina de San Angel is a good place to see it from. My husband and I try to get there about 45 minutes before it starts, order dinner, and get a seat as close to the rail as possible.

Have fun - you'll love it!

There's lots of good places around the lagoon, just make sure that you are not near any trees. We have come to like standing near Norway and Mexico. When Illuminations are over, we stroll around the countries clockwise and let everyone else rush to the parking lot.

We watched it from in front of Norway and had a great view. I think as long as you get a spot around the lake without any obstructions, you will have a good view. Just make sure you get there early (at least an hour) to stake out your spot.

I agree with those above. We were just there Friday night and get there early. Next to Norway we had a great view and enjoyed them. Just be sure to get a spot on the rail or stand on the opposite side of the side walk and that way you have an angle to see over the people at the rail if you arrive later.

I stand in front of that shop between Mexico & Canada & get an awesome view of IlumiNations everytime. Then I watch the fountain show & leave w/everyone else.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

I'm not giving away our SECRET spot! ;) but I will suggest that you don't stand downwind. The smoke will cloud your view. I agree with the OPs, get your spot early and watch out for people jumping in front of you at the last second!

On our last 2 visits we have made dinner reservations at Rose & Crowne for around 7:30. If you get an inside table you will be escorted to their special viewing spot just before the show. This past trip we were seated outside and didn't even have to move out of our chairs to watch. We enjoyed dessert while watching - awesome! We have it booked again for our trip next spring! We like it because we don't have to worry about finding a spot and then waiting with the little ones for the show to start.

Have fun, and I'm sure that you will love Illuminations!

Last trip we found a large area in England right on the water. There was plenty of room to sit and stand, and we ended up getting there just in time to sit on one of the benches and get an unobstruted view of the fireworks. Enjoy!
