I have a question about the Southern California resident discount for Annual Passes. My husband and I are relatively new here to L.A. (moved here in July). We've had a really hard time getting California driver's licenses (our birth certificates are in storage in Oregon!). The question is, can we use something like a utility bill or a paystub to prove we're residents of So. Cal.? Is my question totally lame or what? :rotfl2:

I'm pretty sure I've read that you CAN use those sorts of things, yes.

Since you're having a hard time getting the birth certs, can you use something like vitalchek and pay some hefty bucks to get new certified copies? Might be worth it, if it's really a pain to get them out of storage.

Or call the registrar's officees in the counties of your births and see if they can do it by mail or even if a family member can pick them up for you and mail them down. They might just refer you to vitalchek, but it's worth a shot!!!!

But anyway, if I were doing it I would bring my lease agreement and the most recent utility bill.
