Question about ID's for Annual Pass discount

I have a question about the Southern California resident discount for Annual Passes. My husband and I are relatively new here to L.A. (moved here in July). We've had a really hard time getting California driver's licenses (our birth certificates are in storage in Oregon!). The question is, can we use something like a utility bill or a paystub to prove we're residents of So. Cal.? Is my question totally lame or what?

I'm pretty sure I've read that you CAN use those sorts of things, yes.

Since you're having a hard time getting the birth certs, can you use something like vitalchek and pay some hefty bucks to get new certified copies? Might be worth it, if it's really a pain to get them out of storage.

Or call the registrar's officees in the counties of your births and see if they can do it by mail or even if a family member can pick them up for you and mail them down. They might just refer you to vitalchek, but it's worth a shot!!!!


But anyway, if I were doing it I would bring my lease agreement and the most recent utility bill.
