Question about Hotwire Savings Club

I was looking at this and I signed up for the trial membership. I have a question about the Target gift cards. Has anyone bought these? It shows them as being $25 in my shopping cart. How do you get the $5 credit? Do they credit that to your next purchase from them? Do they send you a refund check? Do they take it off before you check out and only charge you $20? From what I read the $10 rebate will in the form of a check in the mail in about 6 weeks time. I am so confused. The only thing I would end up using this for is the Target and mayb TRU gift cards. This may not be worth it for me, since you have to still be a member when you redeem these cards. I guess if I plan on quitting at the end of the trial, these will not work for Christmas gifts. I can always use Target, though.

There are two forms of rebates with Hotwire. One is the one-time $10 rebate which is mailed to you as a check. The second is the rebate for giftcards purchased through the program. Most store cards are in $25 increments, earning a $5 rebate each. Most restaurant cards are in $10 increments and earn a $2 credit each. In other words, each gives a 20% discount off the true price. The card refunds are credited to the credit card you are using to purchase the cards, and will appear on the next statement, or possibly two out depending on the closing date of your statement as compared to the purchase date of the cards. So if you bought 3 $25 Target gift cards this month, your credit card would be charged $75 this month, and on your next statement you would see a credit of $15 , $5 per card purchased. So your "true cost" is $20 per card. Other items, such as movie tickets and Disney tickets or meal vouchers, are just sold at a discounted price and there are no credits involved.
