Question About Hotwire - Never Used

I have been taking a look at Rental Car info and via Budget and National using AAA rates, and other coupons I have come up with approx $750 for a weekly mini0van rental (not great I know). But, I just went on Hotwire and came seemingly get the same minivan for $410. This is a HUGE difference and seems a really great deal.....too good to be true??? That is my question - are there hidden drawbacks or things to be aware of when using Hotwire to rent a car? Any insight would be appreciated!

You pay it up front and can't cancel it.

Otherwise, we rented a car through hotwire at LAX, and it was just fine!

Try Mousesavers.com - they have alot of rental car codes for many companies, and you can keep checking for lower rates as your trip gets closer. We used a code from there in Nov. for Dollar, and got a minivan for the wk. for about $270 - by far the cheapest we saw. We did rent off-airport-if you're staying on-site and can take ME to resort, it can definitely save you $$, as you don't pay airport fees, and can maybe rent less time if you don't need car right away. This worked for us, as we had ME from MCO as we stayed on-site 2 nts. till move to Timeshare w/in-laws day 3(would have had to rent 10 days). There is a Dollar at Regal Sun Resort in DTD, and there is a car care center in WDW(not sure where) -you'd have to check what companies they use. Hope this helps!
