what would be the best place to stay if money is no object.. The Grand Californian is booked so that is not an option.
I am looking for a suite and I'm okay not staying at one of the Disney hotel..

I heard Doubletree was nice. Does anyone know anything about there or Hyatt Regency..

Thanks!

Hojos -staying here in 5days
camolot inn (stayed last year loved it nice view 404 room had firework view)

Embassy Suites! Nice rooms and a free breakfast in the morning and afternoon snacks and drinks!

The Sheraton back behind Disneyland is very nice. It is not in walking distance, I am pretty sure they offer their own shuttle though.

Depends on your need for luxury vs. your desire to stay in walking distance.

Read "Hydroguy's Hotel Rule" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199862 ; also "Hidden Time Losses when using a car at DLR" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1381580

I'd choose walking distance myself, as long as the place was clean and reasonably quiet. That way we could take midday breaks, and be able to get to and from the parks via our own feet, within 5 minutes or so. I'd try for Best Western Park Place Inn and Suites. It's the closest hotel to the center of the Esplanade except for GCH.

If you're looking for nicer quality, I'd choose a place that has its own dedicated shuttle, rather than depending on ART or on a car. Candy Cane Inn or Hyatt Regency are examples.

Just my opinions. Hope that helps! :)

We are staying at the DoubleTree Suites in Feb. They had great reviews on Expedia and TripAdvisor and it was within a reasonable walking distance. Embassy Suites was our next choice, but not within walking distance.
