I've been searching for the best deal on the Country Inn and Suites on Calypso Cay Way and found many price quotes. The best I've found so far is 49.00 a nite through valuetrips.com which I linked to off of mousesavers.

I'm wondering are sites like expedia(who I know is trustworthy), valuetrips.com or hotelquest.com safe and true to their quote?

I'd love to go ahead and book the 49.00 rate through that valuetrip but I'm nervous.

Thanks

I havent booked thru valuetrips but I have used Expedia with no problems. We got a package thru them last Sept--room and tickets. Our room was close to 45% off rack rates. We wouldnt hesitate to book thru them again if we find a great deal. We have since become dvc members so will be using our points on our next trip.

I use Expedia quite often. I just returned from a trip to visit my sister and brand new nephew in Florida and saved almost 50% off at Amerisuites using Expedia. I have never had any problems with them!!

I booked the Entertainment rate at the CIS @ Calypso Cay for last Nov/Dec (around Thanksgiving) and I believe our rate was $39.50 per night. I called the hotel directly and was able to book the rate without having the book/card in hand, as I planned to purchase it later if we were able to get the Entertainment rate. As it turned out, we cancelled this reservation because I got a better deal elsewhere, so I can't give you any more details...I do see that they are still listed in the area hotel listing on the Entertainment.com website, but you don't say when your trip will be and I understand the current cards/books expire at the end of October. You might try calling the hotel directly and ask them if they have that rate available...Good luck! :D

I called CIS and asked them for their best rate available for that hotel for August 24-August 30 and they told me 69/79(for two of the nites).

I commented on the valuetrips price of 49.00 a nite and she said the only way to get low rates are to go through the web. I bit the bullet and sent a request for those dates in. I have to wait up to two business days before I hear anything.

If I can't get that rate for some reasons, I will try ordering the Entertainment Book and going that route.

Thanks

It looks Expedia has worked out well for alot of people. has anyone used www.hotels.com or www.hotwire.com I have found really good airfare prices on hotwire. but I am afraid to purchase anything because of the times. because they are non refundable and everything else.

tarabl,

I asked specifically for the Entertainment rate after reading posts here on the DIS boards regarding this rate. The reservations person did not tell me about it before I asked. I would definitely ask the hotel if the rate is available for your dates first, before buying the Entertainment book, unless you plan to use the book for other reasons anyway. Good luck and have a great trip!!

I used Valutrips December 2001 for Caribe Royal Suites and had no problems. It was a good rate for Christmas week and also included a very large buffet breakfast for the 3 of us. I think Ameri Suites is the same deal. Good luck with your plans. I had originally booked Country Inn and Suites with the kid suites and then found out the bunk beds are not full size (son is 6'2") so cancelled and switched. I believe I cancelled directly with the hotel.

YIPEE, I got the rate of 49.00 a nite with two queen beds and breakfast every morning. Valuetrips.com looks like they deal directly with the hotel because when I got my confirmation it says I should call them directly to cancel, should I have to, and directly call them for directions or any questions.

I'm so excited. Anyone ever stay at Country Inn and Suites on Calypso Cay Way??? We stay there on our way driving down from Philadelphia and they are the CLEANEST hotels.

I'm ready to go now but have to wait until the end of August.
