Question about Hopper on Package I booked

I called to cancel our park hopper option on our package today. We added a day to our trip and it pushed us about 150.00 over our budget and we are trying to stay tight so we can have spending money and such to have fun with when at WDW. We booked the stay/play/dine back on the day it originally came out for Visa holders.

So, I called today and asked to remove that from the package. The CM came back and said it was only going to be a savings of $40.00. I am confused. I thought after tax the total cost to upgrade to a park hopper was around $60.00 per ticket. We have two adults and a child on the package so wouldn't that be around $180.00 savings if I removed it.

Does the package cause this price to be different? Just curious. I'm wondering if the CM was mistaken and I should call back or if this is the correct amount I would be refunded if I remove the hopper option. Thanks for any help you can give!!

When is your trip? The only thing I can come up,with is that you are within 45 days and being charged a penalty for changing your package.

I am 50 days out. That's why I called today. My 45 day mark and final payment is next week. I just don't get it unless there is some kind of discount on the stay/play/dine discount that I didn't realize. Maybe it took off some cost of the dining, room and tix/ph. I dunno! Hope someone can give me some insight!

Did you book the S/D/P package in the first few days it came out? Disney raised prices after the first few days, and now any changes you make to the package will make it price out at the higher price.

We upgraded from QSDP to standard a couple weeks after the package came out, and it brought our price about $70 higher than it should have, if it had just been the extra cost of the dining upgrade.

this sounds like it's what happened to you. Relatively unfair...but there you have it! You MIGHT be able to ask to speak to a supervisor to have them explain the price difference. They may be able to take the park hopper off for you.

It must be the glitch that WDW fixed eventually. Seems like if they are going to "honor" the price, that ought to include any changes I make but oh well! It's not a perfect world. At least I got the less expensive price on the package with the glitch, right?

I believe that on the PSD offer the tickets are discounted if you have the hopper included. Taking that off makes the discount less on the ticket portion that is probably where the difference is
