So we have never done a dinner show at Disney but want to try the Hoop-Dee-Doo review on our next trip. It just looks fun and (for the most part) people seem to like the food.

The one thing we haven't settled on is the tiering we should get.

Based on what I have read I am thinking of doing tier 2 and requesting to be on the balcony but I wan't some thoughts on:

1) Is that a good choice? Do you miss out on stuff by not bing on the floor?
2) If we aren't able to get the balcony can you see well from the tier two seats on the floor?

Among our party will be DD who will be a little over 2 1/2 at the time ... will she be able to see from the balcony and/or if we are in the back on the floor?

Thanks for any advice :thumbsup2

I sat in Tier 3 on the balcony and thought I had the best seat in the house. We were right on the railing with a full view of the stage and the silliness on the floor.

The thing about being on the floor is that you will have more interaction with the show people. Being on the balcony you have less likelihood of that but you will see fine if not better than being in the back on the floor.

Your two year old will not care either way most likely.*
*This is my opinion only.

Its a lot of fun.

We did tier 1 and were seated right next to the stage, which was a blast. Even so the performers interact with all the members of the audience. Afterwards we wandered around some of the other tiers and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Its an excellent show, well worth the money.

I believe the balcony (a.k.a. "the shelf") is tier 3 with tier 2 being the main floor towards the back of the room. Tier 1 is the main floor from the stage to where the balcony covers the main floor. A recent thread indicated tiers 2 and 3 booked up earliest with tier one (most expensive) being the last to fill up. Not long ago we got revervations for tier 1 one a week or two in advance. Back when you could book a year in advance, all the seat were booked that far in advance. The dinner and show are still great at ever, so I suppose fewer people enjoy that kind of thing. It's their loss.

There really isn't a bad seat in the house. You can see pretty much from anywhere. Just depends on how close you want to be to the stage. It isn't a huge building so I wouldn't worry too much. At a point in the show one or two of them DO come upstairs but most of the interaction is definitely on the floor but you can see it from any where. :thumbsup2

Also, depending on how full the show is, your tier 3 seating may be "upgraded" to tier 2. This has happened to me for the 3rd show when they moved everyone downstairs to fill the main floor.

thanks for the thoughts everyone ...

hadn't really thought of tier 3 ... since I figured viewing from the side might not be great ... but it is the cheapest option ::scratchin

decisions, decision - I think I will ask the rest of my party how much they want to be interacted with

We sat in tier 2 last march (center of the balcony) and it was great. We have 4 kids, including one that was 2 yrs 4 months then - she had a blast!!

1) There is a main fact regarding theaters.
2) Better seats cost more.
3) It is indisputable, undeniable, and never challenged.
4) You get what you pay for.
5) People will enjoy all seats, but better tables are always more.

. . . Cat-1 tables are main floor from stage thru row-8
. . . Cat-2 tables are the seven tables in row-9 on main floor
. . . Cat-2 tables are the last four tables left and right wings main floor
. . . Cat-2 tables are the six rear balcony tables facing stage
. . . Cat-3 tables are the nine tables on both balcony sides
. . . Cat-2 and Cat-3 tables may have posts in the viewing way
. . . most Cat-3 tables require you to turn around or crank your neck to see
