Hi everyone,

I'm sure this question has been asked and re-asked a million times but I didn't have much luck with the search interface. :confused3

I am about to buy a contract with my home resort as BLT. I understand you can book for your home resort 11 months out, and non-home resorts 7 months out.

So, if one were to purchase additional points at a different resort (e.g. AKV) would that also give you home resort status there, and thus be able to book 11 months out? If so, would even a small amount of points give you this ability (for example 50 points?) And finally, if it does give you home resort status there, assuming you had the same usage year for the new points and the old points, could you pool them together to use for booking at either resort of your choosing 11 months out?

Thanks!!

At 11 months out you can book your home resort only with home resort points. You can not combine points from other home resorts

When you're booking online at dvcmember.com and you have multiple contracts, there is a dropdown box for you to choose which contract's points you want the reservation to come out of. So if you're using your home resort priority then you obviously want to choose that contract -- and you'll be cheerfully informed if you don't have enough points on that contract!

If you buy a small contract, keep in mind that you can bank and borrow and use that contract every 2-3 years with the home advantage. By banking and borrowing, you would be able to use 150 points at one time, making a week stay easy at to book at the 11 month window.

No. One cannot pool points from different home resorts to book a single resort at 11 months.
