Question about home rentals

I'm new to this board. I've always stayed on property, but I will be traveling with my mother next time and staying in a condo or rental home seems much more cost efficient than staying on property. I'm sorry if I'm repeting another thread, but can anyone tell me a good website to check out vacation homes. I would like to rent one with a private pool, etc. I've seen them on Expedia, but I don't know how good they are. Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your help. I have never rented a place off site before and I am greatful for any information. I saw a condo in Windsor Palms that I liked. I e-mailed the owner and she gave me a quote of $759 for 6 nights in Disney's value season. I thought this was a little high from what I've read.

Some owners want more. We were just looking for a home for our trip in July and was able to find one for $595 plus tax, so around $675 for seven nights. We also had a few owners eamil us for some nice homes for $700 including tax for the week.

We got them all from the rentalo site. I entered my dates and got quite a few emails from owners of all kinds of properties since we did not state we were looking for a house. We received about 60 offers for our trip in July. We ended up winning a 2 bedroom condo on skyauction for $326 in the end though.

Just take a look at all the sites and find a few you think you will like and email the owners. I am sure you can find one that will be closer to the price you want.

That is high for a condo. You didn't mention when your trip is or if you are looking for 2 or 3 bedrooms, but I would suggest checking http://www.closesttodisney.com/. You'll certainly get a better rate there.

The trip is from 10/30 to 11/5. We are looking for a 3 bedroom condo. I tried retalo.com and got some quotes for Windsor Palms for around $500 fro 6 nights. That was tax included. I got an offer for a condo for $380, but I'm not quite sure where it is. I thought since this is my first time renting, I would stick to Windsor Palms since I hear good things about it.

3-bed condo at closesttodisney.com for those dates is $93/nite though you can probably do better.

Look for the green Mickey heads. We'll be there that week as well.
