Question about holiday decorations?

I've just booked a trip Nov 13-19 :cool1: and I'm wondering about the holiday decorations. I assume the MK decorations will be up by then due to MMVMCP, but what about the Osbourne Lights and the decorations at Epcot and the resorts? Decorations at the resorts isn't critical to me, but I'd really like to see the Osborne lights.

Osbourne Lights started on November 8th this year.

We went November 12-19 this year and MK was decorated. The big tree was up at Epcot and the Christmas topiaries appeared later that week. We also saw the gingerbread house at the GF that week.

The Osbornes have started the same night as MVMCP the last couple years, so that's probably when they'll start in 2011. No guarantees though--prior to that they started much closer to Thanksgiving.

Except for 2009. In 2009, they started the day after Thanksgiving.

I hate to disagree with a 70000+ poster (I'm in awe--really), but I have a whole bunch of pics of a very impressive display of lights in the back of DHS dated 11/14/2009. ;)

We were debating between Mid Nov and Mid Dec for a trip and it is nice to know that the dec. will probably be up either time!

On a related topic - when do they usually come down? And is it the same for DL in California? We're trying to choose a week for next year and I'd rather avoid both the week before and after Christmas.

Usually they turn them off/bring them down a just a few days after New Year's. Last year (Jan 2010) they stopped a full week later due to an unusual cold snap. This is at WDW--can't speak to DL.

Actually in 2009 and 2010 they started early November BEFORE 2009 they started Thanksgiving week or the friday after.

OP, Mk is decorated by the 1st MVMCP EXCEPT The nig tree which is not put up till AFTER parade taping weekend in December.Osborne lghts started early November in 2009 and 2010 , but before that it was Thanksgiving week. All the resorts and other parks are decorated in phases and are not guaranteed till Thanksgiving week.Things at Epcot like the Candleight Processional and the holiday storytellers do not start till the Friday after Thanksgiving. No one can say for sure how much will be there when you are. Some might be up,some might not be up, some might appear overnight. Also just because things have been done a certain way the last few years does not mean they can't change at anytime and without notice
