can anyone who has been to hifs tell me if the kidsuites are too babyish for teenagers. I want to get a kidsuite for my 9 yo but don't want my other two older kids (12,14) disappointed. Your help would be appreciated.

I think some people are making too big a deal about the 'theming' of the kids suites. It's just wallpaper on two walls, one of which is not even IN the room. It is just bunkbeds and a trundle bed. There is a SMALL (little kid sized) table in there, but nothing about it is 'babyish'. I think your aged kids would be fine there. There is also a Super Nintendo in the room, plus a tv and vcr. My 11-1/2 y/o daugher did not think it was babyish. If I had JUST teenagers, I'd may stay in one of the rooms with the queen bed in the other room just because of size (I would guess a queen would be a little roomier for two teens than two bunk beds).

Here is a link to my pics from our stay at HIFS...I believe one of them shows the bunk beds and another one shows the wall outside of the bedrooms:

Hope this help

You may want to visit their website for a complete list of the themes and request one that's not so childish, like the racecar theme or the space theme. Have a great time!

I don't think they actually assign you your room until you're there (at check in). I would worry less about the wallpaper and more about the location of the room. I have seen other people reiterate this point, also. We were in building #8, 3rd floor, overlooking the pool and thought that was a GREAT location.

We just got back from HIFS on Sunday. We had our 3 yr old with us who is train mad so we requested the choo choo theme. The theme really isn't a big deal. The fact is they have bunk beds in the room, their own tv and vcr and nintendo. How much time are they actually going to be in the room anyway when there is so much to do outside? There are other themes to choose from. Get them to choose their own and there should be no problem.

I thought the bunks in the kidsuites were very narrow and small but I don't think the overall feeling was babyish. We had the endangered species room and I had to listen to the teens make Alfred Hitchcock "The Birds" jokes all week. They were totally freaked out by all those birds on the wall. My 7 year old loved it though. You might want to think about putting one or both of the older kids in the pullout in the "livingroom". Only drawback, you'll have to hop/crawl over them to get around (very samll room). My kids thought the pullout was very comfy for a hideabed.
