Question about HIFS rate

I saw all of the posts about the Entertainment Card and getting that rate at HIFS. So last night I put in the aprox. dates of our trip (sometime during the last week of sept.). It came up saying there were no EC rates for that time available, but it gave me a quote of $99 for a kidsuite? It said 21 day advance purchase. Even with the military rate it'd cost me $114 a night. So my question is I can get the rooms for $99 a night with no card? Does the advance purchase mean I have to pay for the rooms upfront?

The advance purchase rate means that you pay your stay in full when you book it. That's why it's such a good rate... no refunds, paid in full. The advance purchase rates are usually not that much more than entertainment rate, but you can cancel with the entertainment rate and no deposit required. If you know for sure you're going and that you want to stay at HIFS, the advance purchase is the way to go. You might also try calling the hotel and asking about entertainment card rates. Sometimes they'll give it to you on the phone even if the internet shows the dates are booked.

Thanks Kim. I thought it was odd that the entertainment card rates weren't available for end of September. Seems like quite a long time away to have them booked already.

We will be staying for the first time at HIFS in March. Online...it didn't show any Ent. Book rates available but when I called they gave me the Ent. rate of $103. I just called last week and since I am going in March my rates are a little higher. I did not have the Ent. book when I made the reservations but did receive it yesterday. Since I have not been to Florida in 20 years could someone suggest the best car rental.

Janice, you may want to ask rental car questions on the "Transportation" board. There's a lot more car renters over there. From what I've read, Dollar, National and Budget all have pretty good reputations and are all located in the airport. Alamo is decent but lines can grow very long as Disney uses them for all their package deals. L and M is also in the airport and has mixed reviews. Also, rental rates change constantly so you need to check and recheck the companies to see who can give you the best rate for your dates.

I just reserved our holiday at HIFS in early December. I was having problems booking online plus it was showing no entertainment rate available, but when I called HIFS direct they confirmed my reservation with an entertainment rate! Woohoo! Saved quite a bit of money. Now hopefully they will honour my request for a ground floor pool side unit (Is that a good choice?? Sure hope so!).

I would suggest second floor, myself. The ground floor, especially facing the pool area, will probably be much noisier. You can make the request at check-in; in my experience they really don't honor requests made in advance, it's more a matter of what's available when you check in. On the flip side I wouldn't go higher than the second floor, as I have heard the elevators can be very slow. With a second floor room if the elevator didn't come soon enough for our liking, we just walked up.

did you find out anything? we are staying the same time, end of Sept, and the E.Card rate wont come up
the reg rate has also gone up to $114 from $99
