Question about HDDR

Hi
Do any of you FW experts know what is going on with the 6:15 HDDR booking? It has been unavailable to book since mid September and through all of October, even at 180 + 10. It is a topic of conversation on the Restaurants Forum. I spoke with a CM on Monday and after putting me on hold she came back and said she could see what I was describing but their was no explanation in the system.
It makes no sense to me that they would eliminate the 6:15 show. What would the kitchen and servers do in the gap between the 4 and 8:30 shows?
Any insight would be appreciated.

Are you sure it isn't being offered? It might just be already booked. Fall is when free dining traditionally occurs & ressies are hardest to get, so the most popular HDDR time (6:15) might have already been snapped up way in advance because of the anticipation of free dining.

Yes I know that. I am sure
Only October 1st is included in Free Dining. We are going the end of the month, so after the 14 th is totally unaffected by that.
I have been watching it for weeks & the CM I spoke with confirmed what I am seeing.
@TheRustyScupper do you have any insight?

Yes, I know the FD dates. I said it might have been booked 180+ in advance due to people's anticipation of FD, the actual dates of which were only recently announced.

My personal opinion is that Disney knows the 615pm show is the most popular time and will effectively sell out even if they wait a few weeks inside the 180 day window to make seats available. This forces the early bookers like yourself to choose either the earlier show (least popular in terms of selling out) or the later show (the #2 choice). I see some dates in late September are now only showing availability for the 4pm earlier show.

It's also possible that although you are trying to book within your 180+10 timeframe that others arriving before you have already done the same.

Of course people can always try to swap/change show times if/once the 615pm show becomes available but the odds are in Disney's favor that most people will keep what they have, make plans to work around it, and still come any way.

This is true regardless of any FD offer or not. At the end of the month the Fort is crammed with campers coming well in advance for their Halloween events and HDDR is a pretty near guaranteed sellout I bet for all shows during the end of October. Plus HDDR is very popular anyway regardless of where people are staying.

Just got off my second call in 2 days about the Hoop .... The CM on the phone can see that the 6:15 shows are not sold out, they just aren't being offered.....not sure why? There's a thread about this on the Restaurants board too, it's earlier in Oct and I can see through 11/6 with my 180+10. It's odd.

While it could be a fluke... I am sure there is a reason for it. It probably has to do with making money (for Disney)
