Question about Haunted Mansion

I am planning a trip for Feb 7-14. I tried to go and see if the HM was going to be on the referb list on the DL website and it is. All the way to Jan 31 because that's the furthest it would go. Do you think it will be open in Feb while I'm there? I sure hope so because I would hate to miss out on it.

The only reason HM is going to be down for refurbishment in January is because they have to spend two weeks or more to remove the holiday overlay from the Haunted Mansion Holiday. Otherwise, I can't see why it wouldn't be back up and running when you go!

when i went in feb last year it was open and running for sure. we went the 22nd, so im pretty sure it should be up by then

On Mouseplanet's refurb list this is what it says about Haunted Mansion:
closes January 5, 2009 to remove the holiday overlay. Scheduled to be closed at least through January 31, 2009.

That sounds odd, regarding the time line from Mouseplanet. For in the past, when I have called Disneyland's Guest Services to inquire about the Haunted Mansion's refurbishment schedule, I had been told that after January 1, it would be closed down. Then after approximately two weeks, it will reopen. So therefore, going by that approximate time line, you should be able to enjoy your visit with Master Gracey and friends.
Now, if it needs to be refurbished for a longer period of time, for whatever reason that it may be, then I can see it as still being closed, after that two week period.

Tink I think you are correct. Gisele can probably give you more info on that because I hadn't noticed that they changed it. I would guess that it'd be open by the end of january barring any unforseen issues removing the overlay.

They always close it after the first weekend of Jan. but it usually reopens in about 2 weeks. When we went the last weekend of Jan 08 it was reopened.

Thanks guys for your replies! The reason why I ask is because the 2nd time we went to Disneyland was around Valentines Day a couple of years ago and it was closed the entire time we were there. So, I figured that it was closed for some unforseen reason. So we decided in 07 to go in December just to see the HM and also to see the holiday decor because the last two times we went before that it was down so I was super bummed! I've never seen it just regular before so I'm looking forward to it.
