At the Halloween events where candy is given, is it just kids who can participate? My sister and I will be on this cruise and my sister really loves Halloween. She would be tickled pink if she could get candy too. If no, then no biggie.

I don't recall, but I feel like I remember it just being kids. That being said, one thing we did was organize a trick or treat on our cruise meet group. We had a set time on our "Halloween" day and I made maps with participating staterooms. We went round and trick or treated at the staterooms. Some staterooms did trick or treat only, some passed out candy only and some did both. My DH took my daughter around while I handed out candy and I was happy to hand out candy to all ages. We had a ton left and we gave a lot to our stateroom host, which delighted him. :) It was a lot of fun all around.

Everyone can participate just like at MNSSHP in the MK! When we cruised in Oct 2015, the Halloween treat bags were left in our stateroom and there were also bags in the atrium where most of the candy was distributed.

Have a fun cruise!

They gave out bags of candy at the adult costume party...and some of us were not dresses up.

On our HotHS last fall, we only received trick or treat bags for the kids (3). At the party, though, there were adults with bags & it didn't seem to be a big deal

We just went in October for our 3rd HOTHS cruise and usually there are tables set up with candy strewn around on them. A CM tries to hand out candy and I have not seen adults refused (I was able to have some) but in our experience it was really chaotic with kids just grabbing candy off the table. Some tables just had candy and no CM and people were just helping themselves to candy.

Honestly, this last cruise was the most chaotic. We had our 2 year granddaughter with us and we had to hold her for the trick or treating as it was so mobbed. They had a table in the atrium, one in the hallway outside the back entrance to Lumiere's, one on Deck 9 outside of Cabanas. There may have been more but it was so crowded we left after we got a few pieces of candy.

The atrium was a madhouse...don't get me wrong, we had fun but it was very crowded and hard to get anywhere. A stroller would have been a nightmare. The candy table was set up to the left of the pic over by the photo backdrop so imagine trying to line up and get candy.

Oh and the dance party/Halloween show was also very crowded.

We had fun dressing up though...and most people were dressed up (Haunted Mansion Ghost Hosts in case you couldn't tell LOL)

Thanks for sharing, MJ. I've got my first HOTHS coming up and it definitely looks crowded but I bet it's the perfect time to go to the rainforest room! I'll still check it out but I doubt i'll stay long or get much candy.

on the one I went on back in 2016 I mostly/only saw kids trick or treating and doing the little activities however while I was getting pictures with some of the costumed characters after the dance party my mom had asked for a candy bag from a CM.... we also got a huge bag of left over candy the following day after winning trivia

We went a couple of year ago and got candy. We did wear costumes.....we did it for awhile, but it was so crowded we gave up and went and did other things

My husband and I trick or treated and were barely in costume other than Pirate shirts (3 nighter, Pirate night and Halloween were same day). They didn't bat an eye and it was fun! We did do the mid-day one so maybe that is why it wasn't totally crazy crowded.
