Question about gyms/hours

On allears, it lists the hours for the gym at BCV as 6am to 9pm. Is that it? Those are the prime park hours. I picture going at 5am or after hours at night. Are all of the gyms like that?

I haven't been to any of the DVC gyms. How are they? Are some better than others? Are we allowed to use the facilites at other DVC resorts (like pool hopping)?

I'm sure when DS1 used the gym at BC last month it was open 24/7 but he needed his room key for out of hours access. The hours posted are when a staff member is present I think.

I don't know about gym hopping but he used the GF gym as the CR was shut due to a flood.

I seem to recall my hubby wanting to workout at WLV at 5am in 2008 and he couldn't get into the room, even with his key card.

We were back at WLV over Thanksgiving 2009, but the latest we worked out was 8pm (and we didn't try before 6am).

Sorry I can't be of more help - but I do remember my hubby having to wait in 2008 for it to open at 6am. I thought that was odd at the time.

Open 24 hours a day with an attendant present from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests wanting 24-hour access to the club must meet with an attendant to sign a waiver and obtain a 24-hour access key. Resort Guests must be 14 years of age or older to use the facilities, and Guests 14 to 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Perhaps all of the resorts are available 24 hours but you must get a 24 hour key first from an attendant.

On our last trip where we stayed at OKW, we got some sort of pass card to enter the exercise room before 5 or 6 AM. I think my DH set it up the night before he wanted to use it, and he was able to access the room the rest of the stay. I suggest asking at the front desk when you arrive.
