When we go down to VWL in December, my dh, ds & I will be arriving the day before the rest of our party. Will they need to check in, even though we will already be checked into our 2-bdrm villa? Or will we be given enough room passes for everyone in our group when we check in?

EDIT: One other question -- on the off-chance that it's warm enough to swim, are they allowed to pool hop with us as DVC guests?

TIA!!

They won't need to check in at all. When you check-in, just tell them how many room keys you will need. If you don't want all ID's to have charging privileges, you should tell the desk before they print out the keys.
You will have to let your guests know which room you'll be in, as the front desk won't tell them outright. They can also call and be connected to your room by phone.

Their keys will also state "DVC Member" and will allow them to pool hop with you. Enjoy!

If you add their names to the reservation, the front desk would give them the keys & room # when they arrive. A DVC member friend had a 2 bedroom at HH last summer and she also invited her sister & her husband. Her sister arrived first and was able to check-in and get the key since her name was also on the reservation.

Everyone would be able to pool hop, all the ID's will say "DVC Member".

In September, one of our guests arrived ahead of us also. Because he was on the ressie, he was allowed to go to the room, and we checked in when we arrived to find him waiting there for us!

Whenever we have guests join us at OKW we always add them to the reservations in advance of check-in. That way we have room keys and a parking pass all ready for them. Sometimes we will get a envelope from the front desk and leave the keys and parking pass for them to retrieve at the front desk. That way if their arrival time is a little uncertain we can hit a park and know that if they arrive even 5 minutes before we get back then they can still get into the unit.

We did the same as Michelle on our last trip. My MIL and SIL were arriving after us. We were going to the parks for the day. I had them added to the reservation before we left. When we checked in, I had them put thier room key and parking pass in an envelope. When my MIL arrived, she got the envelope at the front desk and they showed her how to get to the room.
