Question about Grand Villas

We are considering going down next year and using a Grand Villa. There will be three families, 6 adults and five children. Our home is OKW and that is where we will be trying to book one. My question is about the size of the third bedroom as we have never actually seen a GV, just looked in our book at the picture. I notice that one of the bedrooms looks a bit smaller and only has double beds. Has this ever posed any problem as not being large enough? Also, how is the best way to determine who gets this smaller room with smaller beds?? Just would like some information from someone who has actually stayed in one with this many people. Thanks!!

While one of the 2nd floor bedrooms is slightly smaller, I thought that the beds are still queen sized, but may not remember clearly. We stayed there several years ago with 2 other couples and had a great experience.

I'm sure someone with a more recent experience will offer comment.

The GV's are wonderful, with a real spacious atmosphere.

Enjoy!

We were in an OKW GV for one night in October. It is beautiful. The third bedroom is smaller with less floor space than the other bedroom upstairs. It has double beds. I had my sister and her husband stay in that room, since we had 3 for the other bedroom. I felt that the third bedroom had a least as much room in it as a room at a moderate resort (PO, CSR). The second bedroom upstairs has lots of floor space, enought for a blow-up bed, if you didn't want to use the sofa bed.

If you are concerned about the size of the third bedroom, you might consider a 2 bdr. and a close-by studio, which is generally less points than a GV.

Thanks to all of you for the information...it is really appreciated. My DH was looking at our book and also came up with the idea of a two bedroom for our children and grandchildren and a one bedroom for us. I think he said it would only be two more points per night.
I really think the GV would be a lot of fun with our kids and grandkids(a little bit hectic), but was on the fence as to whom would want the double beds and the smaller room. My DH said maybe we should take it, but immediately I said NO THANKS!!
Even though I do not want to be selfish....I would like the master suite for us. Thanks again to all for your posts.

Maybe this should be another thread or a poll. I think the DVC members should get the master suite, no question!

While that third bedroom is a little smaller, it's still a good sized room. When we stayed in a GV at OKW, my father and 30YO son shared that room, and they had no complaints. Of course, we were footing the bill, and who would complain in that situation?

And, as bill footers, you are definitely entitled to the master BR.
