HUH? The Wynn Dixie is no where near the Publix in LBV. There is no Publix close to DTD or the Crossroads. The closest is up by Lake Byran - a rough drive beyond I4 and not easy to find due to the strange road/traffic setup in that area. You could walk (about a mile) to the Wynn Dixie from DTD and we've had as good or better baked goods from them as any Publix.
Thanks for the store info. I think I will go with Winn Dixie just because it's simpler. I tried to find the Publix near WDW and every time I called their bakery the staff could not tell me if they were near Disney. Someone even asked a co-worker, "Where are we?" Didn't instill must confidence in me getting the right store. So, having said that, does anyone know which Mickey cakes they make. I have seen one with Mickey flying a plane online that I like. There is also a surfing Mickey on and a Mickey gears one. Please advise and I'll place my order tomorrow.
I was talking about my local WD & Publix. They're less than a mile from us, which is why I've had so many of their cakes. Everyone around here goes to one or the other.
With our local stores, you can always tell if the cake came from WD or Publix. Publix is much better.
. You can bring an outside cake in. They just won't store it for you. I have heard that they will be happy to bring a knife, cake plates and serving platter--just ask your server. Good luck with you ordering. I'm hoping to place an order today. Just would love to know what Mickey cakes they have and flavour options. Oh well, I'll find out when I phone. It's been nice chatting with you. Have fun in November and let us know how your cake turns out.
