Question about getting to SSR room

My DH and I usually drive to WDW or use a rental car when we fly. We will be using ME to get to SSR next week. Since the buildings are spread out and not like, say, AKV, how do you get your luggage to your room from check-in at the Carriage House?

The guest services will bring your luggage to your room, but you have to be there when they bring it.
 
If you are using ME then your luggage will be delivered to your room. This may have changed but we have never had to be in our room when luggage is delivered when we used ME.

Upon check-out we just call bell services and they come and collect our luggage.
 
ME will deliver your luggage to your room. Unlike bell services, you do NOT need to be there if ME delivers the luggage. The bags should be in your room roughly 3 hours later.
 

When we stayed at SSR in May I noticed cast members driving new arrivals on golfcarts with their luggage to the building they would be staying in.
 
if you do carry on or have a lot of bags, Bell Services will drive you in a golf cart from the Carriage House where you check in over to your resort room. We always carry on, but had groceries on our last stay, so we needed the cart to bring us over to our room in the Springs. On the way back, we just wheeled our bags over to the Carriage House.
 
When using ME, the luggage will be delivered to your room hwther you are there or not. It is not the same baggage handling as bell services, so used different rules. If you want bell services to handle any luggage, say if you are switching rooms or resorts, you must be present at pick up and at delivery.

Keep in mind that ME luggage delivey can be as much as 3 to 4 hours after your check in at the resort.
 
We have stayed at SSR 6 times now and for the stay last month, we had to wait over an hour for Bell Services to have a cart available to take us to our villa with our luggage (we do towncar, not ME). There were 3 groups ahead of us waiting and I think between that and delivering ME luggage, they were behind. If we hadn't had so many groceries, we would have just walked/rolled to the villa.
 
Thanks for the help, everyone! We will each have our carry-on, but bell services will have our Owner's Locker. Hopefully, we can get them to drive us to our room, because our locker is stuffed to capacity and very heavy. :rolleyes1

Why wait for Bell Services? We have transferred many times and have just gone to the room and waited there for Bell Services. All things are secure once in the hands of Bell Services, so go and enjoy! (Just have one person in room for Bell Services)
 
Problem solved! My sister lives in the Orlando area, so she is going to pick us up at the airport. Now, I'll have to see if she'll take us back when we are leaving...
