Question about Gay Days

Please excuse me in advance if I ask some dumb questions as I am in unchartered territory.

A friend of mine and his partner want to head to Disney for the first time, probably for Gay Days. They have asked me help them plan their trip as I know LOTS about Disney. I went to the Gay Days website and see that the Royal Plaza is the official hotel, but they want to stay at a Disney resort. Is there a resort that is more preferred by gay men and women? How about activities? Restaurants?

Again, please excuse me if these are dumb questions.

Well.. you'll find folks at lots of different resorts.

Last year I stayed at Pop Century and there were lots of my brethren (and sister-ren?) there..

That's where I'll be staying again this year.

I know a lot of the bears go to the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

I guess it's the whole bear in the woods thing

There are gays just about everywhere that week. My advice is to just pick the resort they want.

(PS. There is no such thing as a "dumb question" over here. As long as your polite we'll answer just about everything! LOL)

Yep, anywhere that they would like to stay will be fine! Not only for Gay Days, mind but any time of the year!

Ask them which resort appeals to them the most in terms of theme, location, room rate, etc. and go from there.

Both will give you info on the time period that has become known as Gay Days Orlando.

Last August we went to WDW with our friends (DS's adopted uncles ) and we all stayed at AKL. We just went this month with the same uncles and they stayed at Pop. They have also stayed at the Hilton in DTD before. They have never encountered any sort of issues with staff or guests, so it really is just up to personal preference.
