Question about GAD voucher and Ticket Redemption

I have a question about GAD vouchers. We are traveling as Magical Gatherings (10 people). Can we buy 3 day MYW tickets at online vendors like Undercover Tourist and then when we get to the park upgrade to a 7 day Parkhopper paying the balance with the credit from the GAD vouchers?

In other words, we would buy the tickets online for say $200. When we get to the park, we would upgrade to 7 day Parkhoppers which would be $286, but if we turn in our voucher, we would get credit for $79... so essentially pay out of pocket another $7

Also, I know that 1 voucher is good for 6 people, do you think they will give us 10 if we were all there?

No, you cannot apply the value of the GAD voucher to an existing ticket. You can either upgrade the GAD voucher to the ticket you need, or you can buy tickets elsewhere and choose another option for your GAD voucher (FP card or figurine with pins, or you can donate the voucher).

If you choose the FP card, you are supposed to be able to get FP cards for everyone in your group, up to six people, provided they are all present and all have valid tickets. I think someone posted that they had 7 or 8 in their group and got FP cards for everyone. It would probably depend on the CM helping you - they don't have to give you cards for 10, but you might get some pixie dust. :goodvibes

The theme park tickets distributed under this Program will not be valid for use on the following dates:
For Walt Disney World® Resort: March 29 - April 8 and July 4, 2010
For the Disneyland® Resort: February 13-14, March 21, June 21-22, July 4, November 21, and December 11-12, 2010.

Tickets are non-transferable.

If you are an Annual Passholder or a multi-day ticket holder, you may choose from one of 3 options instead of receiving the free 1-day, 1-park ticket. No cash refunds or credits will be provided. See the FAQs for full details.

Vouchers must be redeemed for tickets or Passholder and multi-day ticket holder options, as applicable, by December 15, 2010. Theme park ticket must be used on the same day as redemption

Which Disney Theme Parks are the free tickets valid for? Can I use it at a Disney Water Park?

If you plan to celebrate at the Disneyland® Resort, you can choose to redeem the voucher for a 1-day ticket to either Disneyland® Park or Disney's California Adventure® Park. If you plan to celebrate at Walt Disney World® Resort, you can redeem the voucher for a 1-day ticket to any of the following 4 theme parks: Magic Kingdom® park, Disney's Animal Kingdom® theme park, Epcot® or Disney's Hollywood Studios™ park. Tickets are not valid for admission to a Disney Water Park admission, DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park or Disney's World Wide of Sports®Complex.

If I have a valid multi-day ticket or an Annual Pass or Passport, is there anything else that I can receive?

Guests who present a valid multi-day ticket or Annual Pass or Passport may choose from one of the following three options instead of receiving the free 1-day, 1-park ticket:

Disney's FASTPASS® Special Exchange Cards for certain attractions for you and up to 5 additional members of your party. †
A Special Ear Hat figurine with unique trading pins‡
Donate your free ticket to one of the select non-profit organizations designated by Disney Parks:

[*]Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern California
[*]Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida
[*]Dreams Take Flight Canada

Thank you for the information. So if we want to buy the 7 day Parkhopper which will cost $286. We can go to Guest Relations and turn in a voucher which would give us $79 credit which would make our tickets cost $207?? I assume this credit would be for each ticket up to 6 people??

The gate price for a 7-day park hopper is $304.59 for an adult, including tax (from Mouseavers.com - 249.21 for a base 7-day MYW ticket, plus a flat fee of 55.38 for the hopper). The prices on Disney's website do not include 6.5% tax, but it is charged. If you redeem your voucher for a one-day ticket, you would take that ticket and upgrade it to the 7-day PH, paying 225.59 out of pocket. The voucher is good for one one-day ticket. If there are more people in your group, they would each need their own vouchers to get the $79 credit toward a ticket.

If you choose to redeem for the FP cards, you can get up to six FP cards with one voucher, as long as each person in your group is present and has a valid ticket.

Did that answer your question? You can only get one free ticket per voucher, but you can get up to six fastpass cards with one voucher.
