I called yesterday and asked if I could go ahead and book with the dining plan and then call back when free dining was official. She said that wasn't a problem. Right now, my total amount owed reflects the cost of the dining plan, but when I call back tomorrow, that amount will be deducted from my total. She said that almost every call she had that day was from people wanting to do exactly the same thing at several different resorts. I wanted to make sure I had a room where I wanted too. Still, they did extend the booking time last year, so hopefully, there are more than enough rooms to go around exactly where everyone wants to be. Another reason I was worried was that I was booking three rooms this trip and I wanted them to be together.
I forgot to mention the most important thing. She also told me that they already knew the codes; they just couldn't use them yet as the computer wouln't accept them yet. So they should be ready to go first thing in the morning. Good luck!
In the last two days, I've called three times and all 3 cast members I spoke to denied any knowledge of free dining. I kept asking... and they kept denying. I can't believe that they are being so open about it to some of you.
The lady I spoke to volunteered information that I didn't even ask about. She assured me that I could just call back and have the free dining code added. If she was wrong, then I guess I'll just have to cancel those 3 reservations and rebook 3 more.
Last year, I booked with free dining online. In fact, that's how I learned about it last year. I don't know if it will still be an option this year, but it's worth checking in the morning before you call.
