Question about FP return times for RSR

I'm in the process of planning our dining reservations and was wondering about Fast Passes at Radiator Springs Racers. Are FP times strictly adhered to? And, are there any best guesses of what types of times we'd be looking at if we were to go directly to the FP machine? How about if we tried to ride first thing and then get a FP? We're going to be there at the busiest time of year, and this would be in particular for Sunday, December 28th.

Yes, FP return times are strictly enforced. Some people may tell you there's a grace period, but in my experience you will be turned away even 5 minutes late.

If the return time conflicts with your dinner reservation, you can always wait by the FP machine for a later time. Are you having dinner in DL that day? If so, I'd just try to ride in the morning and then hop to DL and stay there. You're going on one of the busiest days of the year, and there is a high chance that the DL gate could close.

Thanks for that comment, wasn't even thinking of getting "locked out" of the parks during that period by skipping from one to the other. What we're looking at is Cafe Orleans.
