I was reading a question today's (July 27) Mouseplanet.com mailbag that was asking about food courts. In the answer, the author stated something about being charged a mandatory service fee to get seated and bring a drink. Do you know what they are talking about?

I am not positive but I believe this is at Pepper Market at CSR. I have heard they have some sort of service charge on the food. It is not a typical style food court from what I understand. Sort of a different set up than the others. You may want to check out some of the CSR threads on the resort board for more details.

I read that too, it was in reference to the Pepper Market. At PM, a host seats you and gives you a menu, then your drink order is taken and drinks are brought to your table. You can get refills but its really difficult to flag down the person who brought your original drink. Thats it. this is what you pay 10% for. It is a lot less service than you get from a waiter at a buffet. If you figure a family of four's bill is around $50, then you are paying $5 for something I would normally tip $1 or $2 for. Its not a lot but it is higher than it should be. 3 or 4% would be more like it

HaHaHa...there are times I would definitely pay for "valet-seating" at POP's food court! :rotfl2:
