hi all. we are going to DW july 10-21, 2004. We went to buy our tickets at our local mwr( hubby is navy). They only had 3 adults passes left, and 2 childrens passes. we bought those although we need 6 adult passes since kids are 10,11,12, & my 15 yr old sister. the lady said she would order some more but was unsure of if they would get here in time. she suggested trying shades of the green while we are down there to see if they had any outher ones left.
my question is :
#1) does anyone know if shades of the green even has florida resident anual pases? the website doesnt show anual passes, just the park hoppers.
#2) we were given little green cards that say for child or adult. When we go to the ticket counter, what do we need besides proof that we are florida residents? nothing on the vouchers even say our name.
#3) my little sister will be going with us. She is 15 almost 16. Does she need id?

thanks so much for your patience and understanding. ... and for any ifno i can get lol... ;)
thanks a bunch in advance!!!!

You will probably need to show a florida drivers license.

You need to do it in person b/c they need to see a valid FL drivers license. We renew through the mail with Disney and they send us a voucher to claim at the park. That is when they ask for the license to confirm.

I was just at shades of green in January. I don't remeber if they have resident APs or not they had a 7 day hopper so they might have the APs. SOG is being rebuilt so they have moved their operations to the contemporary hotel. It is on like the 2 or 3rd floor. The transformed one of the rooms into a store for SOG. Hope this helps.

We are moving to FL in January. We are going to be getting FL annual passes when we get there so we can meet up with my family in WDW when they come down for vacation.

Do you think they will accept a signed lease as proof of residency since we wouldn't have our FL drivers licences yet??

You will want to call on that one. All the info says is that you must have "proof of Florida residency." Technically, you could have a signed lease and still live in Montana, if you're purchasing a house as an investment or a sublet. So that may not necessarily do it for proof. I would call Disney before you go to purchase the passes to be certain.

:earsboy:

Yes, SOG sells FL resident AP's. We buy ours there every year :)

As for proof of residency, here's the official line from Disney:

VALID Florida Drivers License
VALID Florida State issued ID card (MUST have Florida address)
Utility statement with the guest name and address along with a corresponding picture ID
VALID Voters Registration Card with corresponding picture ID
VALID Florida Based Military ID - Florida Military Bases

Pensacola Naval Air Station
Hurlburt Field Air Force Base
Eglin Air Force Base
Tyndall Air Force Base
Panama City Coastal Systems Station (Navy)
Jacksonville Naval Air Station
Mayport Naval Station
MacDill Air Force Base
Patrick Air Force Base
Miami Coast Guard Station
Clearwater Coast Guard Air Station
Homestead Air Reserve Base
Key West Naval Air Station
United States Southern Command (Miami)

VALID College ID (MUST be a Florida college)

Each adult in the party is required to have a Florida ID.

Notice it doesn't say lease. As someone pointed out earlier, you could still be living elsewhere and have a lease. They will take a UTILITY BILL in your name, though.....because that will show you have actually moved. CAVEAT: Each adult must have an ID, so if you have a spouse, they'll need something with their name on it, too....so if you're going this route, make sure one name is on the electric, and the other is on the phone!

FYI: It is SO easy to get FL driver's license. You should just go ahead and do it when you get there, and not worry about all whether they'll take something else. The few times we've actually had to go in to do them it took less than 20 minutes for both of us! FL is pretty efficient....most DMV services are handled by mail or online so the lines (at least in JAX!) weren't long :) Add to that, I think you're required to get your new license within 30 days of moving into the state.....so it's probably easier just to go do it a day or 2 after you arrive :)

Good luck :) And have a great time!!

dan-tot The new Shades of Green opened March 1. Everything is back there :)

kadaten- do you know if the shades of the green resident annual pases are the same as the mwr ( we paid 300.00 for adlts with tax). Also if my sister is 15 is she considered an adult and needs an id? i don't think she even has one.
thanks !

Huh?!!

Hmmmmmmmmmm. It's more of the timing. We will be moving down 1st or 2nd week of Jan and my family will be getting there on Jan 22nd. There won't be enough time to get a first utility bill even if we have the utilities turned on before we arrive. I wonder if the utility companies would send me something showing they turned them on in our names??

Maybe we will just get regular annual passes then once those expire, get resident passes. We will just have to see how it goes. I just can't wait to move!! No More SNOW!! No More Shoveling and scraping ice off my windows.

Scoobmuzic, we recently moved to Florida and have not yet had a chance to change our driver's licenses. We tried using the sales contract on our houses to get Florida annual passes and it wouldn't work. They want a Florida drivers license. We've now gotten utility bills, but we got to anxious and went ahead and just renewed our regular APs. Next year, we will get the Florida version.

In some locations in Florida it takes quite a while to get an appt. for your drivers license. I waited 6 weeks before I could go for the drivers license. Once I was there it only took about 15 mins.

They advise making an appt. They said they start to line up outside about an hour before the place opens.

 Confused.... You shouldn't have paid tax on those if you bought them at MWR....but at SOG in November we paid $289 for each adult FL res AP.

As for the 15-year-old, I don't know....we haven't reached that bridge yet! I'd call and ask if I were you. Or, just bring her school ID....they all have them now and it would have the name/location of the school, proving her residency.

We must've just gotten lucky then! We've had to go in 3 times total (due to moves....they will only make so many changes via mail before they make you come in) and have never been there more than 20 minutes total :) And never made an appointment! We were in JAX, and used the office on San Jose....if that helps anyone :)

I had to use the Haines City office which is about 25 mins from WDW. One morning before my appt. I thought I would just take a ride up at 7 AM. Yes there was already a line.

Just a word of warning. I just called to make an appointment to get my Missouri driver's license changed to a Florida license. The earliest appointment I could get is August 4th. Incredible! I'd count on using a utility bill to get your annual passes. You are much more likely to have one of those before you'll be able to change your driver's license!

just out of curiousity. what if you dont have a utility bill? we live in base housing and we dont have an utitlity bill. I dont have a drivers liscense but i have a military id..however there is nothing on the id that has any state on it.
I wonder if my hubbys orders and our assignment quarters would work?

Thank you everyone for all your help :teeth:

We were looking to have the passes that quickly only because my family planned their vacation in January. I think we will buy regular annual passes before we go and activate them once we settle in.

All the people on these boards are so helpful!! ::yes:: I am so glad I found it!!
