Question about fires in Florida?

Is it possible parks might close because of smoke form the fires in Florida? It seems from news reports that the smoke is very heavy in some areas of central Florida. I will be doing US and IOA the week of 5/19-5/26. I hope it will be clear by then but who knows. Does anyone know what is like in Orlando concerning the smoke?

We had one day that was kind of smokey a week ago but the parks were open. I haven't noticed any smoke lately.

When you pull up the weather on www.weather.com for Orlando it says the weather is 'smoke' today. Not sunny, cloudy but smoke. Man its hot there now huh? I didnt think it was in the 90's yet!

OK, I just went outside (I live only about 5 blocks from Universal.)

It is slightly hazy today but not bad.

it was really smoky here in Altamonte Springs (just north of Orlando) this morning

I'm an hour and a half south, and its very hazy. It depends on the wind I suppose. I dont see them shutting down the parks or any rides, after all its just smoke....not fire. I think now the concern is on the sub-Tropical Storm looming off the coast. Hopefully it will hit us and ease some of this drought.

Unfortunately, Andrea is pretty dry and will mostly fall apart by the time it gets here, if anything the winds will spread the fires more. I run the hurricane website http://flhurricane.com and have been hoping it would cause a bit more rain, but it just isn't doing much except spreading fires and causing the smoke to get around

As for the number of fires around, http://www.fl-dof.com/wildfire2007/wildfire_map.html
tells the story more.

I live next to the park also, and it hasn't been too bad (some days worse than others), but you can definitely smell the smoke.

Good to see you, Attricks. Your hurricane site is the most accurate of any I have read. I'm always lurking there during hurricane season.

Great site. Hopefully we'll get something besides just wind out of it. Palm Beach County is talking about how they're going to make it mandatory that you water your lawn one day a week, and they'll close down water parks....well duh, that should have already been done.
