Question about FD/AP discount...

Hi all...I posted on another thread about how I called to update my reservation to reflect the FD for our upcoming 11-24 - 12-1 trip and it was originally going to save me just under $1000...then the CM decided to check for the AP discount to see which was better...it turned out that the AP discount was better - saving me $1100! - and keeping the basic dining plan.

Now my question is since my reservation no longer includes MYW park tickets....not even the 1 day...the CM I spoke to said that I could keep the dining and resort package without the tickets? When I was explaining this to my BFF it didn't make sense so I was wondering if this happened for anyone else and/or should I call Disney again to just confirm that I have the dining plan??

The AP package is room plus dining, with no tickets. For us it would have been $1536.77.
I had the same idea you did. With the free dining pin code, hotel, and 1 day base tickets for all 5 of us, the price was $1607.77. That is only a $71.00 difference.
I went with the free dining code. To get the five 1 day base tickets for only $71.00 is a better deal for us, considering our situation.
I am the only AP holder in the family, so I have to buy tickets for the other 4 of us anyway. I will just upgrade them when I get there, and keep my 1 day base ticket for the next trip.

We kept the AP room only discount at Pop for Dec. I have an AP and DH has a hopper, so keeping the room only works better for us. We also might have the Tables In Wonderland discount card by then, so we don't know if we want to add the basic dining plan.
