Question about FD and one day tickets

So I have a one day ticket that we didn't use last time we went to Disney for FD. IF they do offer it this time and I buy another one day ticket, can I apply the value of the ticket I have already towards making it a 9 day pass once I get to Disney or do I have to wait until I go without having to buy a one day ticket?

You can only upgrade one ticket.

That is to say, if you book this time with another one-day ticket, you can upgrade this new ticket to a nine-day ticket and pay the difference.

You cannot add the value of the other older one-day ticket to the new one-day ticket, thereby lowering your upgrade cost. This is considered 'combining' tickets, and that is strictly not allowed (except in the case of water park tickets and premim passes, which is a whole other ball of wax).

Those older one-day passes are going to have to wait for a trip where you are not required to buy a ticket/package... maybe a discounted room-only reservation (no dining), where you take your old one-day passes and upgrade them after you arrive?

Thanks, I wasn't sure.. It's not like I won't use them, it's just when? My dh and I have a day left at a water park back from when they didn't expire ever. My dd has a one day park ticket from our last trip..
