Question about fast passes

I remember one time last trip there was a guy in line about 10 in front of us that had a big bag of fast passes. I assumed they were all old fastpasses and he brings them with him on future trips. But i'm not sure how it works. I know that if you are there for the day and get a fast pass for an attraction, you can show up at any time after the return time and still go through the fast pass line. Now can you do that for other days....even a year after or two years after?

If so, i think i'm going to start keeping my unused fastpasses as well. It's actually pretty darn smart idea.

No, you can not use them on future visits.

Maybe he just had a big bag. It may not have been full of FP but other stuff and he took out what he needed. You did say you were 10 people behind him so you are assuming his bag was full of FPs because with 10 others between you, you really wouldn't be able to see that well.

I notice the cast members don't look at the fastpasses that closely, just the top one and they count the total. Perhaps, he has a valid one for the top and old ones on the bottom.

Hopefully, this isn't the case. I can't believe anyone would try to game the system at Disney!

Is it possible he had a larger group, and he was holding the fastpasses for everyone? Maybe some of his party was not riding the ride when he was in line?

We sometimes hold more than one fastpass, as we will usually get another pass as soon as our window is valid, so we can kill time riding the current fastpass ride. That isn't cheating, and I often give that suggestion to newbies to utilize the system and maximize park time effectively. This could be the case, especially if he is the keeper of the passes.

Sometimes they give extra fp's if you get stuck on a ride. They gave us a lot the other night since we missed Hallowishes!

Was the trip at the same time as the brazilian tour groups? I was waiting for my party to get off Soarin after I got them FP and a guy sat next to me frantically counting his FPs and adding them to a pile he had which was atleast 2 inches thick.

Some time ago it was a big deal and they were being sold on Ebay, etc. A couple of years ago WDW cracked down and stated they were going to start screening them more closely and not permit them to be used like that anymore. I think I have seen sporadicly where someone might use a FP a day late, etc but not much is mentioned and most of the "sales" of old FP have died off.

I remembered this because people weren't sure how far they were cracking down and if the end time would also start being enforced.

To the PP who said CMs don't pay attention to the fastpasses..........Uh yeah they do!!!

We were 2 mins early for our FP on EE and the CM pointed at the clock and said, "nope, not time". He actually made us wait until 5 sec after the time said. Not kidding. I thought that was a bit extreme, but rules are rules.

They were definitely FP's. It was like a ziplock bag full of a bunch. He didn't seem to be hiding what he was doing though, that's why i thought it was "legal". There were no tour groups at this time though. It was in November. Maybe he was with a really large group..... but i just didn't notice that. Oh well, just curious to whether it was something that was allowed. Since you all say it's not, i'll just continue to give away our unused ones when we leave.
