I'm looking to book a four night cruise on the Dream and have a quick question about sleeping arrangements. We have 2 kids who will be barely 4 and not quite 3 for this trip; both too big for a crib, but not big enough for a top bunk. Do the family oceanview rooms that sleep five have a second, non bunk bed? I know that on the Wonder we could split the big bed for the kids and my husband could take the top bunk if we needed to, but I know that wouldn't work on the Dream. The family oceanview looks really nice, I'm hoping it will work for us,

The family ones have a murphy bed that pulls down next to the couch, by the window, so it makes a T with the couch bed.
I had to google to find pics of it but was wondering the same thing!

Have only sailed DCL once so can't comment on the family cabins. But we have cruised many times with 3 kids. Our last cruise the twins were 3.5yrs. They shared the bottom bunk AKA couch that turned into twin bed. Each night our cabin steward would make them a little barracade in the middle of the twin bed that divided the bed- not straight accross though it was angled so that each could stretch out their legs but not kick the other one- it worked out perfectly.
When sailing on other lines that haven't had side rails on the bed- we have also placed the twin mattress or couch cushions on the floor and made up a bed for them- cabin steward provided mattress cover, etc for the coush cusion & made a mini bed.

We were on the Dream the end of last February. I & my brother both had family oceanview rooms. My brother's didn't have the drop down bunk bed. It had the sofa bed and a murphy bed. It was room 9660 (if that helps). Our room (right next door) had the bunk, not the murphy bed.

If the kids are that little, are they able to share a bed?
