Question about Fall 2011 Applications...

Hey all! I have a situation where I can't reapply for the Fall 2011 program til May because I didn't pass the web based interview for Spring 2011.

I'm a little confused on when I can actually reapply. Can I reapply when the new applications go up? I was told on Facebook in the Fall/Fall Advantage College Program group that I could but then, as I already know, somebody else told me that I still have to wait til May because of the 6 months rule.

So I'm a little confused, because I would really really like to reapply in the next couple weeks, instead of waiting 4 months for a test that'll only take half an hour or so.. ha. I also would really prefer to apply as soon as possible so that the roles that I want don't get filled up. So yeah, if anyone can clarify that would be wonderful... Thanks!

I would call the program people when the app goes up and ask them. People can give you what they think but really thats the only way to know for sure. I have heard that you can apply again at the beginning and that it is really so you don't try to apply twice for the same program season but I really don't know if that's true. So I would recommend calling the Program Recruiters and coming back and letting us know what they say. :D You probably don't even need to wait for Apps to come out and could call now.

Okay! cool! That would be amazing if I could reapply next week! The wait is seriously killing me. This program is all I can think about..I might send them an email and see if they respond! :D

I'm actually in the same boat. Still not sure how I didn't pass the online portion. I've heard it may be because I used Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. Who knows?

Definitely come back and let us know what you find out!

well, they did respond to my email, but with some dissappointing news :/

Here's what they said

Hi Kelsi,
The results of the Web based interview that is used for positions at Walt Disney World and Disneyland are valid for 6 months. Depending on when a previous applicant completed this interview, they may or may not be able to take it again during our upcoming recruiting season.

The primary recruiting season will begin in February and end in mid-April. If your results expire before our recruiting season ends, you are more than welcome to apply again.

Also please note that we do not fill roles based on a first come-first serve basis. We do not extend all of the positions to those who apply early in the season. We spread out the allocation of positions throughout the recruiting season so that those who apply in the latter part of the recruiting season have the same opportunities available as those who apply earlier in the recruiting season

sooooo I dunno.. I'm just going to wait til next week and see what my application says on the 20th! Keeping my fingers crossed. XD haha :wizard:

Yeah I've experienced it myself and called them and you'll have to wait 6 months. EXACTLY 6 months later the web based interview will start working for you again. And I applied late October and wasn't able to apply again until late April and was stressing out about it--but I got in last fall in my first role choice so no need to worry about spots filling.:thumbsup2

What if you passed the WBI but got denied because of your rehire status can you apply and use those results or do you have to wait 6 months and retake it?

When you apply they will tell you what your status is. Mine is restricted so this will be my first time applying when I'm actually eligible (wait 6 months from when your last day was and work somewhere for 6 month) as of March 10th both of those will be done for me! :) So I'm hopeful.

I have actually talked to someone in recruting and this is a common misconception. It doesn't matter which web browser you use for the Web Interview. The only portion you have to use IE for is the application itself. For the web interview it doesn't matter.

Oh...so if you're returning for a 2nd cp.. you can't apply again for 6 months after your last work day?

i dont know if that is always the case... because i know plenty of people who have done a fall... and then turn around and do fall again... the next year... and fall ends in december/jan and apps for fall go up in jan/ feb if you HAD to wait 6 months then they wouldnt even be able to apply because they wouldnt be eligible until july to be selected and they already have the roles full for fall by april..... so i dont know how that works exactly

No. What he is talking about is only if you have a restricted rehire. If you have a normal all ok rehire then you don't have to wait 6 months after your last day of work. I know someone who did the Spring 2010 CP and applied and was accepted for the Spring 2011 CP. And he applied right at the beggining of the application season. So in like August/September. At most he was only 4 months out from his last day of work.

Only if you have a restricted rehire status which they tell you over the phone during your interview if you do or not.

Its only if your rehire status is restricted.

You're correct if you don't have a restricted rehire status then you wouldn't have to wait 6 months.

What would be a reason that you would have a restricted rehire? I guess I'm just not familiar with that at all...

I have mine because I had to selfterm and leave the program early. That's the most common one. But I've heard you can get it based on your record card from when you're there or something. 80% of the time it's for leaving early though.
