Question About Extra Magic Hours

I saw that beginning January 2nd, 2005, they have a new extra magic hour where a park is open an hour early on select days, and a park is open up to 3 hours late on select days for WDW resort guests. Based on the current schedule (for Feb. at least) there are MANY days during the month where there is no park open early/late. I'm wondering if this is replacing the "good old" early entry program (e.g. Sundays is MK, Mondays is AK, Tuesdays is MGM, etc.), or if this is something completely different? We based ALL of our PS's and our plan based on the early entry days, so, if this is a replacement, then we won't be able to take advantage of early entry. If this is something different than the old early entry, then that means that there may be 2 parks open early on some days??

We'll be there Feb 13 - 20. Looks like MGM early entry on Feb 15 is the only one that matches the old system. I looked again, and you're correct . . . one park is either open early or late each day, but not both. Thanks for the info!!
